The triumphant Return of… Christine! Christine came back to Ithaca this weekend, the first time she came back since she left for school. We had a great time getting her reacquainted with NYC. The big news is that we picked up our car, a brand new Toyota Matrix. We got a black 4 wheel drive version to help her navigate through the nasty Ithaca winters. And no, this CAR is NOT an SUV! Sure it is 4 wheel drive, but it gets 30 mpg and is basically a Corolla. In fact, it is technically a Corolla Sport Wagon. We have immediately fallen in love with its sporty little looks and its new car smell… mmmmmmm. The one thing that is lacking is a name. Since it is black and it is a Matrix, we were thinking maybe Morpheus or Neo. But that is too obvious. We need a good Matrix name, so post your suggestions in the comments.

We also had a little birthday party for Christine. JD and Yoshi made a very um… interesting… cake with pure willpower and good intentions. I believe Albert took some pictures, so I will link to them when he posts them. All said and done, it was a great time. I have never seen someone get so excited about the gift of a kitchen knife!

Well, I need to go study. I am off to take the GMAT tomorrow, so I have some studying to do. Why would I take it when I have a great job? A guy’s got to keep his options open! I now also have internet at home, so hopefully the posts will be more frequent. Cheers!

Happy Birthday So there are a few shout outs I gotta give. Happy birthday, Mom! And happy early birthday, Micah! and happy birthday, Central Park! I called Mom, sent a gift box for her and Micah, and got the crap scared out of me by Central Park. I’m on the phone with Christine and suddenly, BOOM! It sounded like half the city blew up. There were more, so I went outside and it looked like there was an air raid going on. All I could see were flashed behind a building. They really don’t need to throw that at our collective NYC nerves. All in the name of “art”. Bah.

Found it! I am not sure if Jared has already linked to this, but I found it this morning… Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the world Ammon’s site premier of a LatinWorks Production… Jared’s Miller Lite commercial! Google works in mysterious ways. Weird.

In other news, I blogged about my tussle with the New York state legal system some time ago. I go to arbitration on Wednesday. I will keep all of my adoring fans posted on this. I hope Jared is on my Jury, since he pays so much attention <*ahem* text messaging> during crucial trials.

I am published! I got another article posted on Fark! You can see it here. That makes three articles approved, out of dozens submitted.

DMB and DMV Could it be true, that the Dave Matthews Band will be playing a FREE concert three blocks from my new apartment?? And I am just today finding out about it? I should not have let my Warehouse membership drop. I was in early back in the day and had priority on all you fools! Dagnabbit. Oh, well, I’m sure I will be able to hear his set from my apartment. Won’t that be cool! I am so out of it. Am I too old for this? Or has DMB been co-opted by a bunch of young ruffians who won’t stay off my lawn? Regardless, I have 26 DMB CDs and about 1000 MP3s, so I should go regardless. Plus it is free and/or charitable, and Dave Matthews is putting out a new Solo album as a birthday present for Christine. Speaking of which, we are buying a new Toyota Matrix. I am man enough to admit that I made a mistake buying her the little Civic we got recently, so now we are opting for something 4 wheel drive and brand new. Hopefully worry free.

Today is also September 11th. I have been reliving that day in NYC two years ago in my mind all day today and it is very distracting. None too pleasant. I walked past the Union Square police station as I do every morning, and they were having a big ceremony around their permanent memorial. They lost more than just a few guys. Quite a poignant way to start your day. I have never been much of a flag waver or blindly jingoistic, but it makes you feel kind of good to see such respect being paid. I don’t know. I’m sure Blogger’s servers are close to crashing with everyone weighing in on this. Had to get my two cents in.
